Research to Prevent Blindness is the nation’s largest private foundation dedicated to vision research. Since 1998, it has awarded UCSF Ophthalmology more than $5.7 million for laboratory investigations to understand sight and halt blinding conditions.

On October 24, the Department of Ophthalmology welcomed Dr. Brian Hofland, the foundation’s incoming president, for a tour of the Koret Vision Research Laboratories and presentations of research in progress.

Our Fall 2014 VISIONS magazine will feature profiles on research currently supported by this generous foundation.
