UCSF opens world’s first Gould Syndrome Center of Excellence, led by Dr. Douglas Gould, who originally discovered the disorder through his UCSF research, and Dr. Alejandra de Alba Campomanes. The Center will support families affected by this rare genetic condition involving COL4A1 and COL4A2 mutations, which can impact the eyes, brain, and other organs.
