Michelle Y. Peng Memorial Lectureship Announced

October 24, 2022

Michelle Peng (UCSF Ophthalmology Residency ’18, West Coast Retina Vitreoretinal Fellowship ’20) sadly passed away August 2022 after a long battle with sarcoma. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and friend. Throughout her time at UCSF and West Coast Retina, she was praised by her teachers as being a skilled and efficient clinician and surgeon, as well as a natural leader and mentor for other trainees. She won numerous accolades during her short career, including the Heed Fellowship and Robert Machemer Vitreoretinal Fellowship. Most importantly, Michelle was cherished for her brilliance, kindness, no-nonsense attitude, and passion for life (and food). Her loss is felt deeply.

To honor Michelle’s legacy, we are creating an annual memorial lectureship. An expert in the field of vitreoretinal surgery or ophthalmology will be invited to speak, with the goal of inspiring other young physicians and surgeons. The event will be hosted by UCSF and West Coast Retina, two institutions that Michelle cared about and were highly influential to her. Gifts will go toward establishing and sustaining the lectureship. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Gifts will be accepted on the All May See Foundation’s Donate page – enter your donation amount – under designation, select Michelle Y. Peng Memorial Lectureship from the dropdown menu.
