UCSF Department of Ophthalmology Hosts Prestigious Lecture on Leadership
The UCSF Department of Ophthalmology recently hosted the Stephen D. McLeod, MD Leadership Lecture, featuring University of California President and ophthalmologist, Michael V. Drake, MD. This distinguished event, held on June 6th at the William G. and Ruth R. Hoffman Auditorium, provided a unique opportunity to delve into the topic of leadership in academic medicine and beyond.
This lectureship, endowed by UCSF alumnus Dr. David and Victoria Chang, honors the exemplary leadership of Dr. McLeod who served as Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology from 2005 to 2022. He is currently the CEO of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, located in San Francisco.
