Roya Afsharzada, MBA has recently joined the All May See team in the newly expanded, full-time, role of Finance and Faculty Awards Manager. She will be managing the daily financial operations of the foundation.
Roya comes to us from the International Rescue Committee where she served as an SIV (Special Immigrant Visa) interpreter, as well as recent positions as Business Manager for JACL, San Francisco and controller for the Community Foundation of Monterey County. She has a broad range of experience in finance, accounting, human resources and non-profit operations from her work with a number of leading humanitarian organizations.
Roya has worked with many renowned nonprofit organizations, including FINCA International, where she worked as a regional accounting manager/ HR officer; the International Rescue Committee, where she worked as a finance officer; Catholic Relief Services, where she was assistant manager of finance; Médecins Sans Frontières, where she was a registration clerk; The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where she was an ESL instructor, and the European Union Monitoring Mission, where she worked as an English interpreter. From 1996-2001, she held private English classes in Herat, Afghanistan and taught hundreds of students.
In August 2009, Roya received a scholarship from the Fulbright Program as a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant and moved from her home country, Afghanistan, to the United States. In 2014, she graduated from Brandman University, where she received a BA in organizational leadership. In 2018, she earned her MBA from California State University, Monterey Bay. She is currently pursuing her PhD in business administration.
