Support the creation of a Center of Excellence in Pediatric Eye Care at UCSF
Many children are in need of specialized pediatric eye care, and with your help, we can do even more for those who need us most.
Our physicians are working to establish a CTAK (Corneal Tissue Addition Keratoplasty) program for children with keratoconus, an emerging treatment that may improve vision by reshaping the cornea. Bringing this treatment into the operating room requires a mobile femtosecond laser, at a cost of $340,000. Additional support is also needed to recruit pediatric subspecialists in areas such as cornea, glaucoma and retina to unify and expand pediatric ophthalmology services. Each recruit will require $1-2 million to establish their laboratories.
Your gift can help build a new Center of Excellence in Pediatric Eye Care at UCSF, ensuring that children with complex eye conditions receive the specialized, sight-saving care they deserve, close to home or far from it. Please consider a gift today to help us realize this goal. You can donate to the Pediatric Opthalmology fund here.
