On November 4, in conjunction with AAO 2023 events held in San Francisco – UCSF Department of Ophthalmology, Francis I. Proctor Foundation, Frederick C. Cordes Eye Society, H. Bruce Ostler Association of Proctor Fellows, and All May See Foundation, hosted a faculty and alumni reception, and honored Robert L. Stamper, MD on his recent retirement.
Over 150 people attended the event at the Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision. Many toured the building for the first time – including at least 3 chairs of departments, leaders from Research to Prevent Blindness, 2 NEI program officers and Dr. Michael Chiang, Director, NEI.
So many staff, residents, fellows and colleagues shared personal stories and expressed their appreciation to Dr. Stamper during the tribute, in honor of his storied career in Ophthalmology.
It was a wonderful evening and showcased what makes our department uniquely amazing!
