Upon receipt of the award, Dr. de Juan noted, “for the past 20 years I have been a professor in the department of ophthalmology which has supported me and the process of innovation greatly, Dr Duncan our Chair has made innovation a key goal for the department. I could not have done it without the support. It is fantastic to continue the tradition here at UCSF with this award.”
